tradition.

i love saturdays
for the beautiful traditions
of muffins, sleep & quality family time

james is an amazing dad & an incredible husband.

he graciously lets me sleep in on saturdays
and he sneaks out of the house with Mo
before the sun rises

together they go to their special spot,

 a fully enclosed pedistrian
bridge that crosses a major highway

they watch the cars & trucks pass below
{and do their best to grab the attention of the semi-drivers to hear a "honk"}

all the while i soak up some uninterrupted sleep.

soon after 7:30 i wake to the sweet sound of,
"good morning, mommy"
and there stands my sweet ethiopian babe,
with muffins in hand.

life is so good, friends.
so grateful for my boys & sweet traditions.

here are pictures from this past saturday's morning adventure
{even "Raffie" took part!}

 "Raffie" and Moses
{the greatest stuffed animal, ever}

 on the bridge

 he is growing up so.fast
so.in.love.

a good one.

i love weekends,
especially ones like this past.

it included some of my favorite things, ever.
and it left me feeling full & so blessed.

my aunt & uncle came to visit from chicago.

we laughed, we talked, we cried, we reminisced.
we cooked & enjoyed a ridiculous amount of good food,
red wine & coffee.

we had a bonfire and made s'mores.
they loved on Moses & he fell in love.

the weather was perfect
& the company divine.

so grateful for the moments we shared
& memories made.

thanks for making the trip, Uncle Tim & Aunt Laura,
and for gracing us with your presence.

welcome home, friends.

Last week our dear friends
brought their little one home from Ethiopia.

With balloons and sign in hand we
went to the airport to welcome them home.

It was such a joy to take part in such
a momentous day....to celebrate life, family
and a little one who is an orphan no more.

We love you, Jacksons!
Thanks for inviting us in and allowing us
to travel this journey with you.

Welcome home, sweet Bruk, welcome HOME!

is by far the best part.

i love moments like this.

SAU reunion.

Saturday we met up with two other families for a
Spring Arbor Reunion.

It was great to reunite with friends
{and incredible to see how our lives have drastically changed}
since we were together last.

The kiddos had a riot together.
The guys caught up over lost time
and the mamas escaped {briefly} for some much needed reprieve & shopping!

Thank you for hosting, John & Kristin
It was a joy to see y'all again.

fall favorites

 last week i shared my love
for pumpkin muffins with this little guy.

we started our morning together walking to whole foods
{we were missing a few key ingredients}
we found what we needed and my helper proudly
 carried the flour all the way home
{in his stroller}

we made it back to our house {bag of flour intact}
and thus begun our baking adventure.

our first attempt was deemed a success.

oh, how i love fall
{and new adventures with this little guy!}
